Olympic Fever

Late nights. Photo finishes. Strange scoring. Trying to understand the words of Bela Karolyi. Ah, the Beijing Olympics is something special. In honor of all that it is, here's a great commercial from Nike. I don't wear their shoes, but I do appreciate their advertising. Good stuff.

The Almighty Oreo Dunk

The Oreo dunk can fall into many categories. You've got the half-dunk, slow-dunk, fast-dank, double-stuff dunk, all the way to the bottom of the glass-dunk, splash dunk, graceful dunk and on and on. Well, here's the first ever "elevator dunk." I have to say it's a very clever use of space and it makes me want to run out grab an oreo and get dunking.

Klondike asks "What would you do?"

For years, Klondike advertising has proposed the question, "What would you do for a Klondike Bar?" Well, now they're truly finding out with a $100,000 contest that challenges the public to submit their own :15 to :90 video on how far they'd go for that tasty ice cream treat. This is user-generator content at its finest. People went crazy with it. One guy tattooed klondike on his leg (if it's permanent, I'm not sure). Another created a Jack Black-esque song all about what he'd do. And there was even a trailer for Klondike The Movie. Good production value or not, these commercials do wonders for the Klondike brand.

The popular Andy Samberg adds to the fun. Currently, you can now vote among the finalists.
